The Lake Norman Marine Commission has been advised that the following Aids To Navigation (ATONs) are in need of repair, non functioning, missing or not in their proper location.

Bridge Buoys

  • Bridge Buoy – Mt. Pleasant Rd Bridge, Mountain Creek – Out of Position – Reset (Dec)
  • Bridge Buoys – Main Channel Highway 150 Bridge – Re-set all four to 50 yards from Bridge (Nov)
  • Bridge Buoy – NE side of Main Channel Highway 150 Bridge – Light out – Repair (Sept)
  • Bridge Buoy – South Side of Buffalo Shoals Rd. Bridge – Light out – Repair (Sept)
  • Bridge Buoy – Rail Road Bridge Mountain Creek – East Side Missing – Moved to LKN Marina by Lake Patrol (Spring 2016)
  • Bridge Buoy – Rail Road Bridge Mountain Creek – West Side Missing – Grounded on Rip-Rap (Nov)
  • Bridge Buoy – East side of 150 Bridge @ Lake Norman Marina – Missing Replace (Spring 2016)

Misc Buoys

  • No Anchoring Buoy – Davidson Creek @ I-77 Causeway – Listing and damaged – Replace (Oct)
  • Keel Boat Buoy “B” – Out of Position – is floating against the restrictive buoys the dam (Sept).
